Every pupil I tutor gets the same thing: me. Why This Matters More Than a Big Number

It's easy to be impressed by an agency quoting "60 students, 95% success rate." But that number tells you almost nothing about what happens in any individual pupil's lessons. With a large tutoring company, a family is placed with whichever tutor is available and matched by subject — often someone they've never met before results are being discussed.

With me, there is no matching process, because there is no one else to match with. Every pupil on this list worked with the same tutor, in the same room, for the whole of their preparation. I know exactly what got each of them their offer, because I was there for every session.

The Grammar Schools Aren't Easy Wins

Two things are worth putting in context for parents comparing tutors:

• Targeted Preparation: Chelmsford County High and Colchester High School for Girls are both intensely competitive grammar schools with acceptance rates that turn away the majority of applicants most years. Multiple offers at both, in the same cohort, isn't a coincidence — it reflects genuinely targeted preparation for each school's specific paper style.

• Breadth of Expertise: The independent offers span very different entrance formats — from CE-style assessments to school-specific papers at places like Brentwood and New Hall. Getting pupils through a range of different exam formats, rather than one narrow type, is a better signal of real teaching depth than volume alone.
